Rebecca holds a Masters degree in Acting from The National Theater Conservatory at the Denver Center and a Bachelors degree from Middlebury College in theater. Rebecca is a professional Stage Actress, Commercial and Voice-over Artist and Freelance Director in San Francisco, CA and Arts Educator Colleges and Graduate School around the country.

Rebecca coaches individuals to reach their performance potential and facilitates presence and communication workshops for lawyers, startups, job placement organizations, specializing in leadership workshops for female leaders across fields.

What sets me apart

Twenty years of studying performance, through living it on stage, teaching it to students, and through directing professional theater, has given me the expertise to translate superior performance skills to “actors” from all walks of life.

Whether you are a entrepreneur pitching an idea for a startup, a lawyer trying to win over a jury, or a high potential future leader interviewing for a management position, theater skills can help you to achieve your goals of greater leadership presence, clarity of delivery and ability to release fear and be present in high-stakes situations. All of these situations require your “peak performance” and to achieve that, you need tools and a guide.

How I work

As a mentor, I teach you the tools of voice and body language that can set you up for success– make the sale, rise to the leadership position, win the case, land the pitch. I guide you to step into the zone and own your potential.

As a coach, I help you to stop sabotaging yourself. We are often not able to achieve our goals and we don’t know why. Sometimes, in our sessions, we look at habits. Are you setting yourself up for success? Or, are you maintaining habits that are keeping you stuck. Often, our bodies or our voices are undercutting our message. Without knowing it, we are sending all the wrong signals. Without a coach, you don’t know what you are projecting. Maybe you know, but you don’t know what to do about it.

From our very first session, you will learn practical skills that you can put to work immediately. Within our first few sessions you will see (and feel) dramatic results. Clients tell me that working with me and my approach is fun, encouraging and real.

I meet with clients in the San Francisco Bay Area and work with people all over the world via Skype.

Working together is a 3 step process:

1. Through my reflection back of what you are already projecting, you gain awareness.

2. I teach you tools so that you can achieve a new experience and achieve your goals.

3. Through an at-home practice you integrate these tools until they become fully and authentically you.

Together, we work so that you can “show up” in a new way.

About my values

In all of my work I seek to support the individual’s fullest self expression, empower them to speak with their authentic voice, connect with their unique, creative vision, and strengthen their ability to hear and follow their inner guide.

What others are saying about Rebecca

“I have found working with Rebecca extremely helpful and I would highly recommend her as a coach to anyone looking to enhance their leadership presence, charisma, body language, voice, or communications. After a few sessions, I noticed a difference both in how the world sees me and how I see myself. Rebecca is extremely positive, supportive, constructive, and pleasant to work with and I look forward to doing more coaching sessions with her.”     -H.G. Business Strategist

“Rebecca’s expertise, experience, knowledge and ability to instill and reach change is astounding! Being a leader of seminars attended by hundreds, I hired Rebecca to coach me with the aim of improving my presentation skills and speaking presence. The changes I am most grateful for are those in my self awareness, the authenticity that now freely flows, and the deeper, truer connection with those i serve. Not only are my clients happier with their experience, I fill more fulfilled with mine! Thank you Rebecca!”      -Ken F, Business Coach

“Rebecca has a natural ability to tap the potential of people in groups. I’ve seen her work with diverse, and seemingly disparate combinations of people, and through the use of games and play, bring them to a high level of cohesion and bonding. When workplace groups become energized, heightened cooperation and collaboration follow. I recommend Serious Play for businesses looking for esprit de corp within teams.”
-Lauren Elliott, CPCC, Executive Coach, Solstice Coaching and Consulting

“Rebecca Martin has assisted me with my transformational workshops at Esalen Institute for over five years. I cannot overstate the experience of support and trust that I have of her, or the joy she brings to the group. process Rebecca is “a 100% player” and her skill and commitment in a leadership position, inspires all those she works with.”
-Paula Shaw, Actress, Master Teacher of International self-expression course, “The Max”

“I highly recommend coaching with Rebecca. She gave me fundamental techniques to project and see immediate results. Her feedback on practice questions for my oral interview was insightful and spot-on. She also gave me additional focus and solidified my key points.”
-Stephanie Wong, Architect at Geddes Ulinskas Architects

“Rebecca Martin really knows how to work creatively with a group of varied individuals. I have work with her closely for several years and have many times seen her draw people out in a way that was challenging but sensitive to their needs and inhibitions. She has great imagination and wonderful intuition, and is non-judgmental and caring. Her very extensive theater and improvisational experience give her a huge tool kit with which to approach her professional work.”
-June Cooperman, MD, choreographer in SF, CA

Rebecca is welcoming, talented, powerful, and insightful.  Every year Rebecca is a guest speaker in my classroom and provides valuable information to the class as well as pertinent, one-on-one assessments to the students as to how they come across to others in a (demanding) professional environment.  She delivers practical advice that can be instituted immediately. With Rebecca’s coaching my students have become more confident, poised, and articulate.  I give Rebecca my highest recommendation.
